Proposition: UK banks blocking transfers to Bitcoin exchanges is illegal and in violation of UK Competition Law

Proposition: UK banks blocking transfers to Bitcoin exchanges is illegal and in violation of UK Competition Law:
From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_competition_law#European_Union_law
"Like all competition law, that in the UK has three main tasks.
I know very little about the details of the law but isn't what the banks are doing? (And this is not just in the UK!) They are defending a monopoly that should never have been allowed to exist!
Transferwise has just been banned from sending money to Bitstamp: http://transferwise.com/blog/2013-04/notice-to-bitcoin-users-april-2013
Mtgox had their account in the UK closed.
Bitfloor closed due to their bank closing it (I think).
We need to do something about this! Can someone with a law background provide a watertight argument for why the banks refusing transfers to Bitcoin exchanges is illegal?
Can we take the banks to court over this?

Best way to sell bitcoin and transfer to UK bank account in GBP?

Hey guys,
Anyone have any experience of selling bitcoins for GBP and transferring to bank account in UK? What's my best option here?
I have current accounts with RBS and Nationwide. Either would be fine.
Many thanks

EU Newbie Alert need help or a hand to buy alt coins in the UK > fastest method (ideally no waiting around with bank transfers) > complete beginner step by step process with minimal steps. Online guides are all written for Bitcoin (which I don't want to buy). Can anyone point me in the direction

I know about coinbase but apart from that I'm lost.

Proposition: UK banks blocking transfers to Bitcoin exchanges is illegal and in violation of UK Competition Law

I've posted this in Bitcoin and got a great response, but being the wrong breed of nerd (tech nerd vs legal nerd) we need the help of law to find out the truth of the matter!
What is bitcoin? For those of you who don't know Bitcoin is: Bitcoin is a decentralized crypto-currency that uses an algorithm to generate bitcoins at a steady rate. It's basically web-cash.
Banks don't like it because it allows people to send money to each other (bitcoins) without banks. It's competition to banks, which currently have a monopoly on money transfer.
What did the banks do to bitcoin exchanges? Banks, especially UK banks, have been shutting down the bank accounts of bitcoin exchanges. To get bitcoins, you have to send money from your bank account to an exchange, then once you have the bitcoins you can send them to anyone around the world anytime, without using a bank and trade them for goods and services.

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_competition_law#European_Union_law
"Like all competition law, that in the UK has three main tasks.
I know very little about the details of the law (specifically UK law) but isn't this exactly what the banks are doing? (And this is not just happening in the UK) They are defending a monopoly that should never have been allowed to exist!
Examples of this happening: - Mtgox, the biggest bitcoin exchange had their bank account in the UK closed.
Can someone provide a watertight argument for why the banks refusing transfers to Bitcoin exchanges and closing accounts of bitcoin exchanges is illegal? Can we take the banks to court over this? (or something that will prevent from doing this)

Can I use BitCoins instead of a wire transfer to move money from a UK bank account to a US bank account?

I'll be working in the UK being paid in GBP, but have accounts to maintain and pay in the US. Rather than pay $35 for a wire transfer, would it be possible to convert the GBP to BitCoins then back to USD and deposit that amount?
Seems... like I wouldn't be able to, but that's why I'm asking in the beginners forum.

How to buy bitcoin with UK bank transfer?

SEPA is not ok, since my bank charges 5% exchange rate, which is £25 premium just because of that + £15 just for the transaction.

Looking to schedule regular transfers from a US bank account to a UK bank account using Bitcoin

Does anyone have any experience UK side? I can set up an automated BTC buy on Coinbase (linked to my US bank). But I'm looking for an easy exchange UK side that will link with my UK bank accounts. I send money across the pond for mortgage in the UK but bank transfer fees are killing me. Looked at Kraken but they don't handle GBP yet. Localbitcoins would require manual touch for every transaction. Any ideas?

MFWTK The easiest way to buy Bitcoins in the UK without doing a direct bank transfer

So, my friend wants to purchase around £30 - £50 of Bitcoins in the UK but can't do a direct bank transfer due to problems with his bank. He can use a debit card, paypal or an online prepaid card (entropay) and is wondering what the best way to go about this is.
He also understands there are varying degrees of risks and is also wondering the best way to avoid these.

Hi there,
Unfortunately I have to retire my ownership to this account as I have bills to pay. I originally purchased this from kane_reddit last year and I'm sure he and many others can vouch for my credibility as I used to trade here often.
I am currently accepting UK bank transfer or bitcoin as this is a large sum of money or PayPal if you are a well known trader. Please PM me with any offers.
Thank you
