Historical bitcoin price APIs question (taxes)

Just a shout out for help with something I am working on. I am developing a bitcoin tax analysis tool. When it comes to reporting trading fees and account statements, often the values are in BTC. Does anyone know an API to use to get historical BTC price for any given day? AVG value would be great but OHLC will do.
Thank you

Bitcoin Price API in Python

A simple and straightforward way to get bitcoin price data from various exchanges. This package provides a unified way of getting and returning current price/bid/ask values from a number of different exchanges. Enjoy!
https://github.com/mmadurski/bitcoin-price-api
It's as simple as:
>>> from exchanges import bitfinex >>> bitfinex.get_current_price() Decimal('371.17')

RemindMeBTC!

RemindMeBTC is a reddit bot by dmesticg based on the famous bot RemindMeBot where instead of getting reminded in 2 weeks/days/years, you get messaged when bitcoin hits a certain price.
How to Use: Comment "RemindMeBTC! price" (example: RemindMeBTC! 25000)
A HUGE thanks to the people of the “Programming Discussions” Discord Server for helping me out with some of the issues I was having with my code. (ESPECIALLY @devoidfury)
Code: Will be Open Source soon!
Technical Specifications:
Why did I make this bot?: Reddit user djezer commented saying a RemindMe bot for the BTC price would be awesome, so i decided to make it!
I want to support the bot, how can I?: There are currently four ways to support the bot. Why does the bot need money?: Because it costs money to run this bot on a VM (Internet, Electricity, PC costs)
  1. Donate BTC to this address: 1NokQaLYAhMmFGt2GpSQ2NXFUs1TqiaVYo
  2. Donate ETH to this address: 0xB32182340455d5aeC4B58FA5c0Fa3B930fA78201
  3. Report bugs by PMing dmesticg
  4. Submit Feature ideas by PMing dmesticg
I want to add this bot to my subreddit: For now, this bot is only on /bitcoin, but if you are a mod of a subreddit, pm dmesticg to add RemindMeBTC to your subreddit. (do not message if you are not a mod)
I released this bot with only one feature, remind you when BTC hits a certain price, because Reddit Bots need A LOT of karma to be able to continuously comment/message/post. My main account dmesticg can basically comment as many times as it wants, but my bot RemindMeBTC can only comment a few times before getting “you are doing that too much. try again in 10 minutes” from reddit. So hopefully, I can run this bot for ~1 week and acquire some more karma and add more features.
Features Coming Soon:
THIS BOT IS NEW, SO EXPECT IT TO GO OFFLINE/ONLINE THROUGHOUT THE DAY
BOT WILL ONLY WORK ON COMMENTS THAT ARE SUBMITTED AFTER THIS POST.
EDIT: Seems like the bot went offline while I was sleeping :( Fixed now!
EDIT 2: Thank you guys for testing the bot! I found a bunch of bugs, and also you can now use commas and dollar signs (example: RemindMeBTC! $100,000)

Bitcoin.com price API is returning inconsistent results

I'm seeing inconsistent results when calling the bitcoin.com price API this morning. ( https://index-api.bitcoin.com/api/v0/cash/price/usd ).
It shows a low of roughly 285 USD to a high of 325 USD or so with calls being made every 60 seconds. It seems that sometimes it is giving the correct price while other times it's down 40 bucks or so lower.
I wasn't sure who to report it to so I figured I'd drop a bug report here and someone would notice.
Edit: This has been resolved by bitcoin.com. Thanks for the last response.

Visual Bitcoin wallet

I'm not sure whether this is a proper post for this subreddit but I do know some of the people here will enjoy this.
I have a stable version of the visual bitcoin wallet I have been working on. Here is a copy for anyone to try. The script is at,
http://pastebin.com/RCjYmZnL
save as bitsimple.py into an empty directory with one empty sub directory in it. (cut and paste it into Idle.) You will need Python27 found at. https://www.python.org/downloads/ use version 2.7.9 (or 2.7.?) You will need wxpython found at. http://www.wxpython.org/download.php install one of these two, wxPython3.0-win32-py27 32-bit Python 2.7 wxPython3.0-win64-py27 64-bit Python 2.7 if you are in doubt use 32 bit. you will need Pillow found at, https://github.com/python-pillow/Pillow Download the zip file and copy to your python directory (c:\python27) right click on file and choose Extract all and extract to sub folder. Open a shell (start-all programs - accessories - command prompt) change to the sub directory and run the python install script like this,
c:\python27>cd C:\Python27\Pillow-master\Pillow-master c:\Python27\Pillow-master\Pillow-master>c:\python27\python.exe setup.py install
you will need pybitcointools found at, https://github.com/petertodd/python-bitcoinlib Download the zip file and copy to your python directory (c:\python27) right click on file and choose Extract all and extract to sub folder. Open a shell (start - all programs - accessories - command prompt) change to the sub directory and run the python install script like this,
C:\python27>cd C:\Python27\python-bitcoinlib-master\python-bitcoinlib-master C:\Python27\python-bitcoinlib-master\python-bitcoinlib-master>c:\python27\python.exe setup.py install
you will need qrcode 5.1 found at, https://pypi.python.org/pypi/qrcode Download the tar.gz file and copy to your python directory (c:\python27) open pythons idle (start - all programs - Python 2.7 - Idle) type in the following commands.
>>>import tarfile >>>mytar = tarfile.open('c:\\python27\\qrcode-5.1.tar.gz','r:gz') >>>mytar.extractall()
Open a shell (start - all programs - accessories - command prompt) change to the sub directory and run the python install script like this,
C:\python27>cd C:\Python27\qrcode-5.1 C:\Python27\qrcode-5.1>c:\python27\python.exe setup.py install
Now that you have the Python eviroment set up and the bitsimple.py script in an empty directory you should be able to just double click on the file to run the program. The first thing that you want to do is import a directory with pictures. The program asks for a passphrase then searches the directory for images and copys them to a new sudirectory in the place where you launched the bitsimple.py scipt. The file is converted into a string, the passphrase that you entered is added on and a private key is generated with the hash, and address is derived and the file is saved under that address. At the same time the program makes a sub directory called 'pictures' in the pictures sub directory it make three more sub directories called 'New','Codetag' and 'spent'. At the same time as it is creating of the root picture files it makes a tag, with no code. for each image and places two copies in the pictures and pictures/New directories respectively. Here is the way that the code tags are constructed. The original picture and a picture of the QRcode of its address are put together and a code strip is added. The code strip has the address of the image, a cryptographic hash of the code and the passphrase, then the code, then the state as a pickle (a python library). When the file is saved it undergoes the same process as its root picture and is saved under the file name 'tagaddress_rootaddress'. When you go to the Tags tab and click on 'Verify Imported Tag' button it asks for a tag file then it displays its verification status for that tag (it uses the passphrase box from the accounts tab). there are three colored bars in the in the verification picture, the first checks the internal hash against the passphrase from the account tab passphrase text box. Then the other two work together, remember the tag file name 'tagaddress_rootaddress', first it uses the unknown tag and the passphrase to create a tagaddress. Looks up that tagaddress in the pictures sub directory and checks the tags codestrip address against the root address of the filename. If you have a tag that is valid and a copy is in the pictures directory its validation block is green,green,green. If you have a tag that is valid and a copy is not in the pictures directory its validation block is green,red,red. if you get red,red,red, it is either, a) Not a tag image. b) An altered tag. or c) You have the incorrect passphrase in the address tab passphrase text box. When you verify a tag, whether it has code or not, the tag that is it's match in the 'pictures' directory is moved to the spent directory. A new tag is created with the variables, 'state' and 'execstr'. execstr is the tagcode and state is a dataspace. The outs list is for tag user data and is printed below the birthday on the tags tab. Tag code example 1: This example the tag gets the last 10 days and trains a Neural net on the first 8 days with the next two as input and then outputs the next two days prediction. The state of the Neural Network is saved as a pickle on the next tag. it requires;
tag code found here http://pastebin.com/RdEbfk6z Bitcoin Price API (not sure of the url) bpnn_t found here http://pastebin.com/b7Q6QGQp
Tag code example 2:
When validated this code transfers .0001 Bitcoin from the root picture account into tag account ( you can collect back with the collect other directory button in the accounts tab) and the tags private key is put into the out list. The tag with the bitcoin is the spent directory. The script saves no data or initialization files other than the file names themselves it looks for sub directories from os.getcwd() and all private keys are generated on the fly with the passphrase text box provided in the accounts tab.
tag code found here http://pastebin.com/a0WtPPVS
As always feel free to hack, splice, chop or appropriate any code you like.
